Hanoi (VNA) - With
repair work on some international
undersea cables now underway, Vietnam’s
internet connection with the world is expected to be fully restored on February
24.
The repair of the Tata
TGN-Intra Asia (IA) cable system’s broken sections began on February 18. The IA
management board said the work is scheduled to be completed on February 24.
Earlier, the system’s branches S1, S5, and FP1 were found to be faulty.
The IA, stretching 6,800 km,
connects Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong (China), and Japan.

Minh City continues to operate normally after one of the
airport staff tested positive for the coronavirus on February 6, according
to airport authorities.
Pham
Vu Cuong, deputy director of the airport, said: “The infected employee did not
come into contact with passengers because he works for the luggage loading
service. His infection has not affected the airport’s operation.”
“The
airport has activated the highest level of pandemic prevention measures since
the northern outbreak in
Hai Duong and Quang Ninh provinces,” he added.

Air travel demand resumes as Covid-19 contained

Air travel demand has started rising again as the Tet holiday nears and the latest Covid-19 outbreak gradually comes under control.
Vietnam Airlines and its subsidiaries, Pacific Airlines and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), are recording a load factor of 90 percent on some routes.
Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to the Central Highlands town of Buon Ma Thuot are 93 percent full, while the rate for flights to the central town of Cam Ranh in Nha Trang is 83 percent.
