The German airline said in a statement, This change was made due to new UAE regulations that restrict flights between India and Dubai for passengers who were transiting there up to now for operational reason.

May 12, 2021, 07:16 AM IST New Delhi: The Delhi international airport is going to shut operations at its T2 terminal due to the fall in passenger traffic amid the second wave of COVID-19 in the country, the PTI news agency reported on Tuesday (May 11, 2021). From May 17 midnight, all flights will be handled at the T3 terminal only, PTI quoted Delhi Airport as saying. They stated that currently, the Delhi airport is handling around 325 flights per day and before the pandemic, it used to handle over 1,500 flights daily. During the last few weeks, the number of domestic air passengers per day has come down from more than 2.2 lakh to around 70,000, according to the Civil Aviation Ministry s data.

The rest of the flights would be functional and managed from the T3 terminal only, as stated by officials.  As of now, only 325 flights per day are being operated whereas, before the pandemic and lockdown imposition, there were 1,500 flights per day.

Vistara to start Delhi-Tokyo flights from 16 June under air bubble

Share Vistara has announced it will start flights on the Delhi-Tokyo route from 16 June under the air bubble arrangement formed between India and Japan. The airline will fly once a week between the two capital cities, said its statement. Vistara’s announcement comes at a time when India and its aviation sector have been badly hit by the second wave of coronavirus infections. During the last few weeks, several countries such as Australia, the US and the UK have restricted travel to and from India. Vistara said it will use its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with three-class cabin configuration to serve the Delhi-Tokyo route.
