All COVID-19 positive flyers who arrived in India from Dec 9 to 22 to undergo genome sequencing
A total of 20 persons in India have been found with the mutant variant of SARS- CoV-2 virus reported from the United Kingdom.

All international passengers who arrived in India from December 9 to December 22, if found symptomatic and tested positive, will be subjected to genome sequencing in a bid to find if they have the new UK coronavirus strain.
Others will be followed up by the respective states and district surveillance officers and tested as per ICMR guidelines, even if asymptomatic, between 5th and 10th day, according to the Union Health Ministry s guidance document on genomic sequencing.

NEW DELHI: Passenger flights between the UK and India would remain suspended till January 7 and they will resume in a “strictly regulated” manner thereafter, Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Wednesday.
The Civil Aviation Ministry had last week suspended all flights between the European country and India from December 23 to December 31 as a mutated variant of the coronavirus was detected there.
Puri said on Twitter: “Decision has been taken to extend the temporary suspension of flights to & from the UK till 7 January 2021.”
“Thereafter strictly regulated resumption will take place for which details will be announced shortly.” he said.

The government on Wednesday announced extension of the temporary suspension of passenger flights between India and the UK till January 7. Thereafter, they will resume their operations under a “strictly regulated” scheme.
Announcing this, Minister for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri in a Twitter post said, “Decision has been taken to extend the temporary suspension of flights to & from the UK till January 7, 2021.”
The Minister went on to add that thereafter “strictly regulated resumption will take place for which details will be announced shortly”.
