Friday, July 23, 2021   View Larger + Michael H. Fula, 43, of Fall River, MA passed away unexpectedly at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River on Friday, July 16, 2021. Born in Cambridge on October 11, 1977, he was the youngest son of Maria A. (Sousa) Fula and the late Hermenio M. Fula. He was the beloved partner of Kasia Booker and the loving father of Skylar P. Fula.  Michael was a Master Floor Installer for Simeone Floors in Wakefield, Massachusetts, he was eventually promoted to a foreman and was a steadfast worker who prided himself on transforming spaces through something that people often overlook every day. On top of his full-time job, he was a full-time student at Quincy College, just one semester away from his Degree in Business.

Friday, July 23, 2021   View Larger + Simon Lau, of Cranston, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 19th, 2021. He was born in Providence on April 22nd, 1985. Simon was the last of five boys born to Man Lin Lau and Yin Zong Lin. Simon grew up in Cranston and attended Cranston High School East class of 2003. He then attended the University of Rhode Island majoring in finance. After graduating early he started working for CVS Health in Cumberland as an accountant. When he had free time he enjoyed traveling with family all over the world and playing online video games with his friends the Zoltan Gamers.

Six-Time WSOP Bracelet Winner Layne Back-to-Back Flack Passes Away at 52

On Monday night, word spread throughout the poker world that six-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Layne Flack, 52, was found dead at his home. A cause of death is not known at this time. Born May 18, 1969, Flack hailed from Rapid City, South Dakota before working as a poker dealer in small card clubs in Montana. Eventually, he found his way to Nevada and learned under poker greats like Johnny Chan and Ted Forrest. At 24, he and his girlfriend moved to Reno, Nevada and by 1995, when his daughter Hailey was born, Layne was a full-time professional poker player, The piece continued: His first big score came at the Horseshoe, where he won a Hall of Fame $1500 no-limit hold em event, and pocketed $68,000. Other tournament wins followed, and so did some high-limit live action. Layne s ability didn t go unnoticed by poker s best players, and when he went through a few bad sessions, Johnny Chan was more than willing to back his play.

Brien, Steve , 66, formerly of North Providence passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the Rhode Island Veterans Home.  He was a seven-year resident there. Born in Providence, raised in Cranston, he was a son of the late Francis E. and Mildred L. (Moore) Brien. Steve was drafted and served in the U.S. Army/82nd Airborne Division, during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a small engine mechanic in the automobile field. He was an avid car lover of the sixty and seventy models and a true Chevrolet man. He enjoyed and repeatedly watched all the car shows remaking older models into perfected automobiles. He also loved NASCAR and NHRA car races.

A loving husband, father, son & a friend to so many, unfortunately, passed away in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in Providence, Rhode Island. He was 31 years old. He is survived by his wife Tifany, four children: Ruddy, Naomi, Matthew, and Mya. Along with his three siblings Alex, Kevin, and Bridgette. Ruddy was born in New York on March 8th, 1990, and was later raised in South Providence, Rhode Island. Like many others with a similar background, he faced a number of trials and tribulations. Deciding to turn his life around in his early 20’s Ruddy turned to God. Throughout his journey of committing his life to Christ, he inspired others to follow him and spread the love and word of God.
