Srinagar: Pakistan troops on Monday initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rampur sector of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing mortars and other weapons. A befitting response has been given by the Indian Army, the Chinar Corps said on Twitter today.
This comes two days after Pakistani soldiers resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. The Army had earlier said that Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and carrying out shelling with mortars. An army jawan, who had sustained injuries in a ceasefire violation, had succumbed to his injuries on Friday.
The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army organised the cultural event Jashn-e-Baramulla to promote the talent of youth. Bollywood actor Ameesha Patel also attended the event and performed on the title track of her debut movie Kaho Na Pyar Hai with participants on the stage. The event also marked the starting of Chillai Kalan period. Many participants gave breath-taking performances in the Kashmir s Got Talent and mesmerised the locals with their singing, cultural dance, folk music and mimicry. The K9 warriors from the Army Dog Unit displayed their obedience and guarding prowess which left the audiences in awe. The enthusiastic and overwhelming response in the winter chills by the local population, including the youth spread melody and harmony in Baramulla and highlighted the rapport between Jawans and Awaam (public).
