Hong Kong and China markets fell on Tuesday, as investors weighed concerns about increasing Covid-19 deaths, infections and lockdowns around the world against the roll-out of coronavirus vaccines.
The Hang Seng Index dropped 0.7 per cent to 26,207.29 for its second consecutive day of declines, having fallen 0.4 per cent on Monday. The Shanghai Composite also fell, paring gains of as much as 0.6 per cent to decline by 0.1 per cent. It recorded gains of 0.7 per cent on Monday.

Police in western Tokyo have launched a campaign to jog the memories of anyone who may be able to shed new light on one of the most notorious unsolved crimes in modern Japanese history - the slaughter of a family 20 years ago that some people say altered the way they lead their lives.
Over the weekend, police began handing out fliers depicting an ordinary-looking family home in the Setagaya district of the city, along with an image of a person wearing dark-coloured trousers, a down jacket, gloves, a scarf, hat and distinctive trainers. An accompanying description of the man indicates he is around 170cm tall.

A woman died in hospital hours after she was rescued from a Hong Kong flat in which firefighters found the decomposing body of her elderly mother.
The 53-year-old woman s elder brother visited the flat in Tuen Mun at about midday on Sunday, after security staff at the Siu Hong Court estate previously alerted him to an odd smell coming from inside, according to police and Tuen Mun district councillor Josephine Chan Shu-ying.
