China: Ministry Sets Higher Goals For Growth In 2021
China will widen high-level opening-up and intensify multilateral economic and trade cooperation in 2021 to ensure sustainable economic growth, said the country’s top commerce official.
The government will pursue supply-side structural reform as the main task while emphasizing demand-side management next year, creating a dynamic balance between supply and demand based on higher standards, said Wang Wentao, the nation’s newly appointed commerce minister.
In addition to building a modern commercial circulation system and developing a strong domestic market, he said the government will implement a broader and deeper opening-up to the global market and allow domestic and overseas markets to better reinforce each other to facilitate “dual circulation”－the nation’s new growth paradigm.

BEIJING, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade has launched more than 300 online trade fairs this year to help steady foreign trade amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a Chinese official said on Thursday.
The council also organized nearly 1,000 online training sessions for about 900,000 people to help businesses participate in the joint construction of the Belt and Road, Feng Yaoxiang, an official with the council, told a press conference.

Participants of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement pledged on Wednesday that they will expedite the pact s implementation procedures and make policy arrangements in advance to help companies from all sides to share the benefits as soon as possible.
With many RCEP members beginning to offer authoritative interpretations to their business communities to make the agreement a reality, government officials from countries including Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Australia, said they will help companies make full use of preferential policies brought by the pact to boost regional economic integration in East Asia and support the global economic recovery.
