China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC) Jamaica is set to deliver the first 50 homes in the Catherine Estates Housing Development before May.
Launched in June 2020, the Catherine Estates Housing Development is a joint-venture partnership between CHEC and the Housing Agency of Jamaica (HAJ) and is expected to provide 1,650 low-income houses.
The development will have one bedroom and studio duplexes.

CHEC is currently working in phases three and four of the development along Dunbeholden Road in St Catherine. The first 50 homes will consist of 30 one-bedroom houses and 20 duplexes.

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): The second civil contract for the construction of the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link was awarded on Friday (Jan 29), a week after Singapore broke ground on the cross-border rail shuttle service connecting the island with Malaysia.
The S$180 million contract covering the construction of a 25m-tall viaduct spanning the Strait of Johor and connecting rail tunnels was given to China Communications Construction Company Limited (Singapore Branch), which is currently constructing the Boon Lay station on the Jurong Region Line, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said.

SINGAPORE: The Singapore arm of China Communications Construction Company Limited has been awarded a S$180 million deal to build a 25m-high viaduct and tunnels for the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link.
This is the second civil contract awarded for the project, said the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Friday (Jan 29).

The first contract, valued at S$932.8 million, went to Penta-Ocean Construction last November. It covered the construction of the RTS Link Woodlands North station, tunnels and the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) building in Singapore.
