National Review Commission rejects Chinese complaints over railway project

Slovenia Times 24. December, 2020 Ljubljana – The National Review Commission has rejected as ungrounded the demands for a review of a selection procedure for main construction works on the Divača-Koper rail track in which four Chinese bidders were eliminated from the competition. This means a decision has been reached on all seven complaints, so the procedure is now closed. The project management company 2TDK published two calls for applications for the EUR 1bn-plus project on 11 November 2019 – one for the construction of the track between Divača and Črni Kal and the other between Črni Kal and Koper. The project was split in two, because of geological structure of the terrain and the lower price expected as a result.

FBR Planning to Remove These Corporate Income Tax Exemptions The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is presently reviewing the following list of corporate income tax exemptions with revenue impact for possible withdrawal before the next fiscal year: Tax credit for investment in balancing, modernization, and replacement of plant and machinery (corporate manufacturing sector), Rs. 65.168 billion. Tax credit for enlistment in Stock Exchange (Companies opting for enlistment in a registered stock exchange), Rs. 357 million. Tax credit for newly established industrial undertakings corporate industrial units (including corporate dairy farming), Rs. 5.573 billion. Tax credit for industrial undertakings established before the first day of July 2011 (corporate industrial units including corporate dairy farming), Rs. 6.486 billion.

2020-12-16 15:35:47 GMT2020-12-16 23:35:47(Beijing Time) Xinhua English ISLAMABAD, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) The largest transportation infrastructure project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the Sukkur-Multan Motorway, was officially handed over to the Pakistani side on Wednesday, according to the project s constructor China State Construction Engineering Corporation. The 392-km motorway, also known as M5 in Pakistan, is a part of the country s Peshawar-Karachi Motorway and was designed for speeds of up to 120 kmh with a total investment of around 2.89 billion U.S. dollars. The motorway was open to traffic in November last year and has greatly improved traffic conditions and helped drive economic development in central Pakistan.
