Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Lt Gen (Retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa on Saturday said that the entire coastal line of Pakistan over an area of 1000 kilometers would be made clean and green under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. “Investment in Green Gwadar is just the beginning, now we are working on a coastal plantation project in line with the PM’s vision of Clean and Green Pakistan”, he said in a tweet. Sharing a video about Gwadar Green House Nursery, he said, “It’s a revolution in the making for the entire 1000 km coastal belt”.

PESHAWAR ISLAMABAD/BEIJING: The competent authority disapproved notification of employment contract termination of Dasu Hydro Power Project issued on July 16, 2021 by China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC).
The notification was issued following blast on bus on July 14, 2021 in which 13 persons, including nine Chinese workers, were killed. The CGGC in its press release stated, “The notification of employees contract termination issued by CGGC Dasu HPP Management on July 16, 2021, had not been approved by the competent authority and has been declared null and void now.
Earlier, the Chinese company issued a letter on July 16, stating that owing to the blast that occurred on July 14, 2021, which caused casualties; CGGC Dasu HPP Management had been forced to suspend the construction of the Dasu Hydropower Project. Peace in Afghanistan a must for regional stability, says Khattak

NOWSHERA: Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak said on Saturday that Pakistan wanted peaceful Afghanistan as it was in its own interest and for lasting peace in the region.
“Prime Minister Imran Khan has given a tit-for-tat reply to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani for his diatribe against Pakistan. Pakistan is a partner for peace in Afghanistan, not a
guarantor,” he said while speaking at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers’ convention here.
Pervez Khattak said that Pakistan was not supporting any group creating unrest in Afghanistan, adding that peace in Afghanistan was our topmost priority.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Saturday the investigation into the July 14 Dasu bus incident, which left 12 people dead, nine of whom were Chinese citizens, had reached the final stage.
The bus was carrying around 40 Chinese engineers, surveyors and mechanical staff to the Dasu hydropower dam construction site in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday. Around 28 were injured.
The interior minister, speaking at a news conference in Islamabad, vowed that Pakistan would provide fool-proof security to Chinese people working on various projects in the country and directives had been issued to all law enforcement agencies in that regard.

ISLAMABAD/ PESHAWAR: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has disclosed that a 15-member team of Chinese investigators has joined the ongoing investigations into the Dasu bus explosion.
The investigations were at an advanced stage and the culprits would be taken to task soon, the minister told a presser in Islamabad on Saturday.
He said the Chinese team of investigators arrived on Friday and visited the incident site with security officials.
Hinting that the incident was an attempt to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, the minister said it happened just two days before the scheduled CPEC Joint Coordination Committee’s meeting, which was postponed following the incident.
