PM considering talking to Baloch insurgents
July 6, 2021
GWADAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday said he was considering speaking to the insurgents in Balochistan, as the situation in the province had changed and Pakistan was moving towards a better future.
The premier, addressing an event in Gwadar, said the insurgents might be upset with the state due to some past grievances or India might have used them to spread terror in Pakistan. But now, the situation has changed, he said.
Imran inaugurated Gwadar Free Zone, Expo Center, Agriculture Industrial Park, and three factories. He also witnessed the signing of various MoUs aimed at constructing a state-of-the-art hospital, airport, and vocational institute.

As the United States prepares to withdraw from Afghanistan, China is preparing to go in and fill the void left by the departing US and NATO troops, The Daily Beast reported.
With its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China is poised to make an exclusive entry into post-US Afghanistan. According to reports, Kabul authorities are intensifying their engagement with China on an extension of the $62 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the BRI’s flagship project.
According to international media, the project involves the construction of highways, railways, and energy pipelines between Pakistan and China to Afghanistan.
American troops left Afghanistan’s main and final US military base on Friday, and while the initial withdrawal date was set for September 11, security officials told a British newspaper that the majority of troops would be out by July 4.

PM mulls holding talks with angry Baloch
Imran says addressing their grievances can prevent hostile elements, including India, from using them to spread chaos
GWADAR:
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he is mulling to hold talks with angry Baloch in Balochistan so that hostile elements, including India, could not use them to spread chaos.
“It is possible that they [angry Baloch] have grievances and India [can] use them to spread anarchy,” Premier Imran said on Monday while addressing local elders, students and businessmen in Gwadar on Monday.
Firing a broadside at the previous rulers, PM Imran said, “[PML-N supremo] Nawaz Sharif made 24 visits to London, 23 of which were private and did not visit Balochistan twice, while Zardari made 51 visits to Dubai and never once visited Balochistan.”
Countering QUAD: Is There A China-Russia-Pakistan Strategic Nexus In The Making?
July 6, 2021
Amid India-US bonhomie over QUAD, it’s interesting to watch how China is maintaining its “all-weather” friendship with Pakistan and an “unbreakable” bond with Russia.
Although it is too soon to prove the existence of a Russia-China-Pakistan ‘axis’, the growing strategic convergence between the three is a significant geopolitical development, especially given the possible formation of power blocs given the growing strategic competition between the US and China.
This convergence will most likely play out in the Indo-Pacific the epicenter of US-China competition. The rechristening of Asia-Pacific as Indo-Pacific is largely a result of growing convergence among the four QUAD countries India, the United States, Japan, and Australia.
