As if the world doesn’t know already that sky is about to fall once again in Afghanistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan told his people through the Parliament that “very tough time” is coming for Pakistan - via Afghanistan.
Admitting defeat is ordinarily unpalatable for military commanders but in a press briefing for a select group of journalists, the US military head honcho in Afghanistan, General Austin Scott Miller admitted that “the security situation is not good right now… civil war is certainly a path that can be visualised if this continues on the trajectory it’s on right now. That should be a concern to the world.”

This is so because never before was there a leader with the conviction and courage to step forth and state Pakistan’s case to the world candidly and boldly. It has not only been done; it is now an integral cornerstone of its policy.
For a galaxy of reasons, Pakistan has been at the receiving end of international politics and proclivities. From the very beginning, our leadership decided to become partners with the Western brand of democracy which came at a heavy cost to its regional interests. ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday praised the Communist Party of China (CPC) for its unique model, calling it an alternative to Western democracy.
“Until now, we had been told that the best way for societies to improve was through Western democracy. However, CPC introduced an alternative system and they have beaten all Western electoral democracies in the way they have highlighted merit in society,” he pointed out.
He said a society only succeeds when it has systems in place for holding the ruling elite accountable and ensuring meritocracy: “Until now, the feeling was that electoral democracy is the best way to bring leaders on merit and hold them accountable.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said as Pakistan had relations based on trust with China, it would accept the Chinese version on Uighurs in Xinjiang.
In reply to a question about western media reports on Xinjiang during an interview with Chinese media at the PM House, he said western press hardly reported massive human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir where nine million people had been put into an open prison.
The prime minister said that IIOJK had been turned into a police state with extrajudicial killings, imprisonments and ban on media, yet there was hardly any adverse comment in (western) media. “This is what Pakistan finds very hypocritical.”
