Chinese envoy lauds Pakistan s sincere efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, says ISPR

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday said that Pakistan greatly valued its friendly relations with “iron brother” China, according to a statement of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military s media wing said that General Qamar expressed these sentiments during a meeting with the Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Nong Rong.
During the meeting, the statement read, matters of mutual interest, progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and regional security situation including the latest developments in the Afghan peace process were discussed.
Islamabad: Pakistan’s top economic decision-making body has approved a Rs2.1 trillion development budget for the financial year 2021-22. This indicates an increase of 61 per cent as compared to the current year’s allocation of Rs1.32 trillion.
Chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) decided that the provinces would spend Rs1.2 trillion from their own resources for public development projects while the federal government has allocated Rs900 billion for the federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
Allocations Nearly Rs509 billion out of Rs900b is earmarked for infrastructure development in the housing, water and transport sectors.
COAS Bajwa assures business community of full support

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday affirmed the Pakistan Army’s complete support to the business community in economic uplift of the country, says an official statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the military’s media wing, the members of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) called on the army chief at GHQ today.
During the meeting, FPCCI’s role in the development of commercial and industrial hubs in Pakistan as well as evolving regional economic environment were discussed, it added.
