Speakers discuss challenges to regional peace

Islamabad : The Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East & Africa (CAMEA) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) had a Panel Discussion on ‘Pakistan-China-Afghanistan: Prospects of Trilateral Cooperation for Regional Stability.’
The distinguished speakers included: Ambassador Masood Khalid, former ambassador to China, Ambassador Omar Samad, Nonresident Senior Fellow Atlantic Council and Prof. Lin Minwang, deputy director of the Center for South Asian Studies and Assistant to the Dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University, China, says press release. Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Director General, ISSI, Ambassador Khalid Mahmood, chairman ISSI and Dr Talat Shabbir, director China-Pakistan Study Center (CPSC) at ISSI took part in the discussion.

ISLAMABAD, May 28 (Xinhua) Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday that the special economic zones (SEZs) under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will promote industrialization of his country and uplift its economy.
Addressing the commercial launching ceremony of the Rashakai SEZ under the CPEC in the country s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, Khan said that the Rashakai and other SEZs will help increase Pakistan s exports, which will eventually facilitate wealth creation. Industrialization is the future of Pakistan, and wealth creation in a country cannot be done without industry. It is a very good thing that the Rashakai SEZ is being developed with cooperation of China, he said, adding that his country can learn a lot from China, a country which has developed its industry during the last few decades with a great pace, to speed up the industrialization process.
NOWSHERA: Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to visit the Nowshera town today and lay the foundation stone for the Rashakai Special Economic Zone which is part of the China-Pakistan Economic.
Govt taking steps to give incentives to investors for promotion of industrialization: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government is taking all out steps to incentivize investors for promotion of industrialization and exports in the country.
He was addressing the ceremony of commercial launch of Rashakai prioritized Special Economic Zone near Nowshera on Friday.
The Prime Minister said hurdles are being removed to facilitate the local and foreign investors to invest in Pakistan.
He emphasized on establishing export-based industry in the country for wealth creation. He said the future of Pakistan lies in industrialization.
Imran Khan said Rashakai Special Economic Zone is being established under CPEC. He said Pakistan has a great potential and it can learn a lot from the fast industrial growth of China.
