Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will bring economic development not only for Islamabad but also for the entire region.
The all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China is unprecedented, Xinhua news agency quoted Khan as saying while chairing a review meeting here on Sunday on the progress of the CPEC projects and investment promotion.
He noted that in order to transform these relations into strong economic ties, it was necessary to promote investment in areas of mutual interest and provide all possible incentives to investors.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday reaffirmed the highest priority accorded by the government to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the firm commitment to expeditiously complete its projects, which would open up tremendous opportunities for increased economic growth and development in the region and beyond.
The prime minister expressed these views during a meeting with China’s Ambassador in Pakistan Nong Rong, who called on him here.
The subjects covered during the meeting included Pakistan-China bilateral relations, including CPEC, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, vaccine cooperation, and high-level bilateral exchanges.
The prime minister highly appreciated the Chinese leadership and conveyed his warm greetings to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang.

A Chinese foreign ministry’s spokesperson has appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s remarks on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), saying Beijing is having discussions with third parties, including Afghanistan, on the extension of the flagship project.
“We have noted the relevant remarks by Prime Minister Imran Khan and we appreciate it,” Zhao Lijian said during his regular briefing while responding to a question on Premier Imran’s remarks about the CPEC.
