A celebration for 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan was held through a combination of online and offline on Thursday. Students from University of Punjab have recorded various fantastic performances, such as singing Chinese songs, dances, etc to commemorate the day. Videos are still being solicited.
The event was jointly held by Lahore Overseas Chinese Association (LOCA) and Confucius Institute at University of Punjab (CIPU). Mr. Luo Qiang, President LOCA said in his remarks that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan on May 21, 1951, people of the two countries have shared weal and woe, and forged a profound friendship through mutual help. China Prepares to Take Leading Role in Afghanistan

Chinese state media on Wednesday anticipated greater influence for Beijing in Afghanistan after U.S. and NATO withdrawal, suggesting China’s firm hand could restore order to bloody chaos after the “failure” of America’s twenty-year intervention.
China’s state Xinhua news service blamed American withdrawal for “a succession of explosive attacks in Afghanistan,” including increased Taliban activity and Saturday’s vicious bombing of a girls’ school in Kabul.
Chinese media has been working frantically to blame the U.S. for the Kabul massacre over the past week, while simultaneously insisting American withdrawal must proceed as swiftly as possible. Xinhua hit both of these contradictory points, reconciling them by blaming U.S. policy for all violence in Afghanistan and proposing China as an alternative steward that might be able to negotiate a lasting peace:
LAHORE: The PML-N has demanded removal of federal cabinet members Ghulam Sarwar Khan and Zulfi Bokhari for their alleged corruption in over Rs2 billion Rawalpindi Ring Road project scam.
“The PTI government instead of making some bureaucrats scapegoat should take action against close aide to the prime minister Zulfi Bokhari and federal minister Ghulam Sarwar for being direct beneficiaries of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project scam,” PML-N Deputy Secretary General Attaullah Tarar told a press conference here on Wednesday.
He said both Zulfi and Sarwar had got huge financial benefits in this project as their lands fell in the project area. He said PM Khan was known for benefiting his ATMs through different means.
