NEW YORK, May 11 Cryptocurrency ethereum climbed to a new peak for a third straight day yesterday on continued optimism about further growth in decentralised finance or “DeFi”, although some analysts said it was overvalued at current levels.
Ethereum has soared this year, fuelled by the boom in DeFi, which are platforms that facilitate crypto-denominated lending outside traditional banking. Many DeFi applications are embedded in the ethereum blockchain.

About 40 bodies believed to be COVID-19 victims, have washed up on the banks of the Ganges river in northern India, officials said on Monday.
The pandemic has been spreading fast into India s vast rural hinterland, overwhelming local health facilities as well as crematoriums and cemeteries.
Local official Ashok Kumar said that about 40 corpses washed up in Buxar district near the border between Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, two of India s poorest states. We have directed concerned officials to dispose of all bodies, to either bury or cremate them, Kumar told AFP.

Some media reports said the number of corpses could be as high as 100.

Thomas Tuchel has delivered a fitness update on Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic ahead of their Premier League clash against Arsenal.
Kovacic has been out of action since last month after picking up a hamstring injury during training in the build up to Chelsea s Champions League second leg tie against Porto in Seville.
Tuchel had hoped Kovacic would return against the Gunners, with his return date continually getting pushed further and further back.

But unfortunately for the Blues, who will also be without Andreas Christensen for the London derby, Kovacic remains on the sidelines.

Thomas Tuchel has delivered an injury update on Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen ahead of their Premier League clash against Arsenal.
The 25-year-old limped off during Chelsea s 2-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday evening and Tuchel hoped it wouldn t be too serious. I hope, I hope, I hope that it’s not too bad and he can recover in the next few days. I’m not sure but this [win] would be absolutely bittersweet if it’s a long injury, said Tuchel on Saturday.
