The European Union, which failed to secure early production of coronavirus vaccines, is demanding that UK-made AstraZeneca doses produced for Britons be sent to Europe instead.
Earlier this week, the European Commission threatened to halt the export of vaccines made in Europe produced under a UK contract, after both drugs companies Pfizer and AstraZeneca revealed a delay in delivery to the EU market due to production problems in Belgium.
While Eurocrats sought to blame AstraZeneca and alleged that it was favouring the UK as a customer, the company’s CEO revealed that the UK had a contract in place three months before the bloc, and implied Brussels bureaucracy was to blame for the lack of progress with successful vaccine production.

Richard Tice said Brussels eurocrats have shown their true colours and have revealed themselves to be protectionist bullies over the coronavirus vaccine row. The Brexiteer took to the radio to slam the European Union s incompetence with dealing with supplier AstraZeneca. The chairman of the Reform UK party said the bloc was totally at fault for the slow rollout of vaccine doses to member states and argued that Brussels was now trying to pass the buck for their bungled approach onto the vaccine manufacturer.

Ms Sturgeon and Mr Farage are set to go head-to-head in May s Holyrood elections, as the Scottish National Party (SNP) leader and Reform UK chief lay out their arguments for and against Scotland staying in the UK. Mr Farage’s Reform UK delivered its election pledges after announcing ex-Tory MSP Michelle Ballantyne as its leader north of the border this month. Mr Farage has often clashed with Ms Sturgeon, as the SNP leader has continually demanded another vote on Scottish independence following the UK s decision to leave the EU.
