Ranchi: Prominent Covid-19 hospitals in Ranchi on Tuesday said they have stocked up enough oxygen to last 72 hours. On Monday night, the state department of health, medical education and family welfare asked all hospitals in the state to stock up liquid medical oxygen and ensure that they have alternate sources of power to keep their medical equipment functional. The department’s directive was issued keeping in mind the cyclonic storm Yaas, which is due to make landfall in Odisha on Wednesday and head inland towards south Jharkhand the same day. Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims), which currently has the capacity to treat 1,108 Covid-19 patients indoors, said it has stocked up 800 Jumbo D-type oxygen cylinders. “We have also procured two oxygen cylinder tanks and kept them on standby.
