CNA photo Dec. 12, 2020 Taipei, Dec. 12 (CNA) Taiwan-based electronics manufacturing giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. said Saturday that it has been turning its attention to quantum technology development, which will create the next semiconductor technology miracle in Taiwan. In the first quantum technology forum held in Taipei, Hon Hai Chairman Liu Young-way (劉揚偉) said the company, also known as Foxconn in the global market, established a quantum computing research institute in June as part of its efforts to enter that field. Liu said when he first heard of quantum-powered computers in 2014, he did not know exactly what the technology was, and it was not until November 2019 that he began to learn about its use in blockchain applications, and Hon Hai started putting resources into that area.
