Texas’ 2,300-plus nursing homes and assisted living facilities will no longer be able to hide data on outbreaks of communicable diseases such as COVID-19 under a bill signed Monday by Gov. Greg Abbott, though some advocates say the measure doesn’t go far enough to ensure transparency.
