Pat Arnold wrote in with a question
“Can you help solve this mystery?,” she asked. “As a little girl, I remember the taping of the show Queen for a Day at the theater on Liberty street (Schines Wooster Theater). I think why it sticks in my mind so much is because of two things. First, it is probably the only time I ever sat in the balcony at that theater and second, I never knew there was a stage behind the big screen.
“I remember sitting up there and watching them wheel out refrigerators as prizes. I posed this on Facebook and someone else agreed with me so it wasn’t a dream. This person thought it happened in 1958 but that seems late to me. Definitely in the 50s but I have no extra reference dates.”
