The Hinesville Police Department working with direct involvement of community support led to the arrest of a man accused of indecent exposure. The man was arrested March 31.
Kashif Edwards was recently observed in person and on video publicly fondling himself in front of women and children at two different locations within Hinesville. As soon as the Hinesville Police Department was informed, they began an investigation to identify and find the suspect.
Mr. Edwards was seen entering into a store on March 31, 2021 by a citizen who was familiar with the incident. That citizen noticed Mr. Edwards acting suspicious and called 911 to report the incident. Due to the quick thinking of this citizen and excellent communication, HPD Patrol Officer Ramos responded and took Mr. Edwards into custod

A family member has been arrested and charged with arson, first degree for a fire he allegedly caused at his family’s home on Seminole Drive.
According to Hinesville Fire Department Public Information Officer, Alex Mason, Christopher Guillermo Pereya has been charged with arson in the fire which heavily damaged his family’s home March 5, in the 1500 block of Seminole Drive.
The family was able to exit the home, according to police who arrived within minutes after the call went out over the air. It was reported that the owner entered the heavy smoke filled home to rescue his dog who was locked inside of a cage.

A murder suspect caught in Hinesville on March 2. According to Liberty County Sheriff, Will Bowman, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office received a request for assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in locating a murder suspect identified as Christopher Anthony Guilfo Jr.
Guilfo had been indicted by a Grand Jury in Dooly County, Georgia for murder charges stemming from an incident in 2017. Guilfo was allegedly involved in a shooting involving two street gangs, the Bloods, and the Gangster Disciples.
