The Sixers have already done the heavy lifting, locking up the top seed. The #Sixers will clinch the Eastern Conference’s best record with a win tonight or a loss by the #Nets and the #Bucks. Keith Pompey (@PompeyOnSixers) May 11, 2021
The 76ers regular-season goal is within reach. With a win this evening in Indiana, they can clinch home court throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. The same can also be accomplished if both the Bucks (hosting Orlando, so probably not gonna happen) and Nets (at Chicago) were to lose. Joel Embiid (non-COVID illness) is listed as a game-time decision, Matisse Thybulle (hand) and Furkan Korkmaz (ankle) are both listed as out. The Sixers are favored this evening by 6 points, although it seems likely that would change if “The Process” were to take a game off.

The Sixers have not been
truly tested in quite some time, although they have had some surprisingly close calls here or there, like when they beat the Spurs in overtime or barely hung on against an undermanned Pelicans squad. The lottery-bound Pistons rolled into town last night with a rather lengthy injury report. And while the game wasn’t entirely a sleeper (Detroit was within 10 points or so for large swaths of the game) the Sixers never really appeared to feel threatened.
