New York s legislative session ends: Five key items left undone

New York State Team ALBANY - The state Legislature wrapped up its legislative session early Friday, capping a six-month stretch where lawmakers waded through bills to address the COVID-19 pandemic and pass a $212 billion budget. The session included votes in March to legalize marijuana, add mobile sports betting, raise income taxes on the rich and increase aid to schools to a record $29.5 billion. But with Gov. Andrew Cuomo facing myriad scandals and offering no robust post-budget agenda, the session ended Friday on a whimper rather than a flurry of deal making that typically happens in June at the state Capitol.
