It is three in the morning. You are startled awake by a crashing sound and you feel the house shudder. You’re a 27-year-old woman and your roommate is a 26-year-old woman. You shout to ask if she is OK. You leave your bedrooms and see a man inside your home. You both shout for him to leave. He pushes you and then hits you. You run back to your bedroom to get your handgun. When you return, your attacker is fighting with your roommate. You shoot the attacker in the leg and now he stops. Your roommate calls 911 while you stand there holding your gun.
You’re driving through downtown Philadelphia. It is almost 9 at night. A car pulls up beside you at a stoplight. The man in the car points a gun at you and says to get out of your car.
You own a handgun. You have your Pennsylvania license to carry. You’re armed tonight. You pretend to move the seat belt as you draw your firearm. Your attacker is getting out of his car when you shoot him. He drops his gun so you drive away and call 911.
Police find your attackers. The police call for EMS to transport the wounded robber to the hospital. The police arrest your attacker’s brother as the getaway driver. The two of them had robbed another driver at gunpoint only a few hours earlier and were sitting in the stolen car. The police said they have surveillance video of both attacks.

You walk into the front area of your house and see that someone has kicked in your front door. You hear a man screaming outside. You go back to your bedroom and get your handgun. Your wife runs to grab your three children. You step onto your porch and ask the crazy man to go home. He charges you. You present your firearm and shoot

They shout at you and start running toward you. You can see that they are armed. You run for your front door.
You make it inside your home and lock the door. You grab your gun from the closet. Seconds later, the three men break through your door. You shoot them. They shoot back. Your wife yells at them to stop shooting because there are children in the home. The intruders tell them to get on the floor. Eventually, the rest of your family escapes out the back door. The bad guys are now outside yelling at you. They say they are the police. You stop shooting and yell for them to stop shooting. You put down your gun and walk outside with your hands in the air.
