SEISS, or the Self Employment Income Support Scheme, was extended by Chancellor Rishi Sunak in his recent Budget, providing an important lifeline to millions of self-employed individuals. Mr Sunak also extended the terms of the scheme to allow, as the Government claims, an extra 600,000 people to potentially benefit from the scheme. Many will be keen to understand how the next self-employment grants will work and any steps they may need to take ahead of time.
Response to media coverage on National Audit Office report on the Culture Recovery Fund
Over £1 billion in awards from our unprecedented Culture Recovery Fund have already provided certainty to nearly 4,000 organisations and sites, protecting over 75,000 jobs across the country.
From:
Contrary to media coverage of a recent report by the National Audit Office, over 80% of grants awarded in the first round of the Fund have been paid to successful organisations with the final instalments scheduled to be paid in early April. 85% of loans to the value of over £149 million have also been paid to successful organisations since February. This means that the funding designed to support organisations up until April has now gone out.
SEISS grant four will soon open for applications on the Government website, but will there also be a fifth self-employed grant available in the future?
