Vanguard News NIN Enrollment: NIMC moves against extortion On By Emmanuel Elebeke The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) says it would not allow any form of extortion and other fraudulent activities in the process of National Identity Number (NIN) enrolment exercise and other activities. The Director-General/CEO of the Commission, Engr. Aliyu Aziz, who stated this said NIMC is a responsible and responsive Commission that pursues the highest ethical standard in the discharge of its functions. He called on the general public to desist from being enablers of extortion as it would not condone any act capable of destroying its hard-earned integrity.

NIN: Report cases of extortion, corruption, NIMC tells Nigerians

Share The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has reiterated its stand against corruption, fraudulent activities, and extortion in the process of enrolment and other activities. The Director-General/CEO, Engr. Aliyu Aziz stated that NIMC is a responsive Commission that pursues the highest ethical standard in the discharge of its functions. ”The Commission, recently, suspended some staff and terminated the appointment of a few others who engaged in acts of extortion and unwholesome practices detrimental to its values,” he said. A statement by the Head, Corporate Communications of NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, recalled that in 2020, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) adjudged NIMC the third-best Federal Government Agency for its fight against corrupt practices. The award underscores NIMC’s concerted and deliberate efforts at stemming the tide of corruption.

Punch Newspapers Sections Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja A Federal High Court in Abuja has summoned the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, and human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), over the ongoing fraud case involving Abdulrasheed Maina, a former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team. Others summoned include: the Director of Compliance, Central Bank of Nigeria; an official of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Ibrahim Kaigama; a representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, G.T Idris; and a former Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Wakil.
