Number of Cigars Smoked For Redux: 1
While the cellophane shows some signs of age, it’s not yellow, instead just a bit murkier. Once out of the cellophane, the cigar looks a bit weird. It’s not the prettiest shade grown wrapper you’ll see and there’s some noticeable discoloration towards the middle of the cigar. The aroma from the cigar is rather potent, at least for a few seconds, with barnyard, a cantaloupe-like sweetness and some rye bread. Interestingly, after about five seconds, it seems all of the aroma from the wrapper has disappeared. The foot smells both a bit sweet and a bit sour. There’s a generic sweetness and the cantaloupe flavor but they are contrasted by some pine and some sort of sour and acidic mixture I can’t really identify. Speaking of flavors that are hard to pinpoint, welcome to the cold draw. It’s not particularly pleasant and has a bit of a c

Number of Cigars Smoked For Redux: 1
As with the cigars I smoked for my first review, this Tarazona Caraballo828 Silverback Edición Limitada is covered in a dark espresso brown wrapper that is sandpaper rough to the touch and features a copious amount of oil. While there are just as many very prominent veins running up and down the length as I remember from the samples in my first review, this cigar is quite a bit more firm when squeezed than those were. The aroma from the wrapper is a combination of bitter dark chocolate, earth, creamy nuts, dark chocolate, leather, manure and nutmeg, while the cold draw brings flavors of coca nibs, cedar, hay, cinnamon, generic sweetness, and black pepper.

Number of Cigars Smoked For Redux: 1
I don’t know if it’s the lighting of the room where I am smoking this cigar, but the La Flor Dominicana TAA 2018 Golden “Oro” Anniversary has a much more golden hue than I remembered it having, though I definitely recall how much gold the bands had in them. Either way, it is a very attractive cigar, with a well done box press and the tapered head giving it some distinct visual character. There is still a nice tanning of the wrapper leaf, which doesn’t have much of an oily sheen but still feels fairly smooth on the fingers. Veins are small and create a visible network, tooth is non-existent, and color is generally even with just the slightest bit of mottling revealing itself in certain light. It’s firmer than what I would consider average for box-pressed cigars, showing the slightest bit of give from front to back. Aroma off the foot consists of a rich, buttery leading scent that leads strong before fading a

Number of Cigars Smoked For Redux: 1
I’m not sure, but this might be the first time that the lid on the coffin containing this cigar has been opened since we acquired it. It feels like there’s a little notch holding the sliding piece in place, and once removed the cigar is revealed, still in its cellophane. Once that is removed, the ribbon foot band needs to be removed, the first of three bands that the cigar wears, and which collectively obscure a good amount of the wrapper leaf. It’s a color that is just slightly darker than medium, somewhere between a darker nutty color and a lighter earthy color. The lower half of the cigar still feels like it has some oils, while the upper half feels like it doesn’t, something I can’t recall experiencing before. It’s also a rather veiny leaf, with an extensive network to be found. The cigar is still firm and constructed beautifully with the tobacco wrapping the head cut about as straight as I can recall s
