Beachbreaks can be a lot like gambling – you roll the dice, pray for the best. And longtime local charger Roger Ramirez went all in on Tuesday at Puerto Escondido although this time, the house won. (Though as evidenced at the end of the vid, he escaped relatively unscathed.)
In case you’ve been sorely out of the loop, Puerto’s been pumping for quite a while. Right now, there’s a series of swells set to hit the Mainland Mex sandbottom gladiator pit – the largest of which is slated to peak on Friday. It hasn’t been all-time although there have been some gems but there’s some guaranteed size (and more heroics, like the above from Ramirez) in store. According to Surfline’s Director of Forecasting, Kevin Wallis:

New Zealand and the United Kingdom have agreed to rapidly lift the tempo of talks, as the two countries enter a new phase in free trade negotiations, Trade and Export Growth Minister Damien O’Connor announced today.
“UK Secretary of State for International Trade, Liz Truss, and I spoke today about the progress we are making in our negotiations to put in place an ambitious, comprehensive FTA that will support sustainable and inclusive trade,” Damien O’Connor said.
“We agreed that good progress towards this objective was made at the fourth round of talks. We also committed to accelerating the process from here, with a view to working towards agreement in the coming months.

Should the Roosters be forced into an 18th man substituion, teen sensation Joseph Suaalii could make his NRL debut tonight for the Roosters during the Tricolours clash with the Knights.
Suaalii, who was previously granted an exemption by the league to make an early debut, has been named as the 18th man for the club s clash in Newcastle.
His inclusion into the squad comes after star fullback James Tedesco was ruled out due to a concussion, which appears to have forced Roosters coach Trent Robinson into a major reshuffle.
The young gun this season had been featuring for the Roosters feeder club, North Sydney, in which he was a late withdrawal from today s NSW Cup clash.

TYRONE will face reigning champions Cavan in the quarter-finals of the Ulster Championship.
The draw for the provincial championship was made this evening, and it’s fair to say that Tyrone’s clash against Mickey Graham’s Cavan is the tie of the round.
The Breffni County defied the odds to win last year’s Ulster Championship for the first time since 1997, while Tyrone are always strongly fancied to do well, so it has the makings of a fantastic contest.

The teams last met in the championship in 2019, when Tyrone eased to a 1-20 to 0-7 victory at Clones in a Round Four qualifer. Much has changed since then, however, including a change of management, and this will be Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher’s first championship clash in charge of the Red Hands.
