Lynch: No audit findings in his Anderson County gov’t offices for second straight year Special to The Oak Ridger Anderson County Circuit Court Clerk Rex Lynch announced Monday that for the second year in a row, there are no audit findings for his offices.  Auditors from the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office perform the audits for Anderson County government, including the offices of Circuit, General Sessions and Juvenile Court Clerks. The Circuit Court Clerk is responsible for filing and maintaining the legal paperwork presented by attorneys, law enforcement and pro se litigants for each of these courts, as well as the collection of fees and fines. The offices combined file on average, over 15,000 cases per year, according to a news release from Lynch.

Harrell committed and condoned discriminatory and retaliatory acts against employees, asserts a lawsuit filed in Rutherford County Chancery Court.

1,623 New COVID-19 Cases in Kentucky on Monday

To minimize the spread of COVID-19, Gov. Andy Beshear today announced an extension of a special program that grants Kentuckians access to renew or replace a driving or identity credential through their Circuit Court Clerk’s preferred mail-in or drop method. The order applies to Kentucky driver’s licenses, permits and state-issued identification cards that expired or will expire by June 30, 2021. Applicants who require driver testing performed by Kentucky State Police must successfully complete that step before renewing a credential. To learn more, see the full release.

COVID-19 Update from Monday, February 1st, 2021

On Monday, February 1st, the state of Kentucky reported 1,623 new cases of COVID-19. This makes a total of 364,507 reported cases of COVID-19 in the commonwealth. 285,138 of those cases have been officially lab confirmed whereas the remaining 79,369 cases are probable. 35 new deaths were reported on Monday. This makes a total of 3,780 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 330 of those are probable and only 3,450 have been officially lab confirmed. A total of 4,071,029 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 3,621,461 were PCR Test, 108,391 were serology test, and 341,177 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 8.85%.
