With the festive period now underway and a Covid-19 vaccine being rolled out across the country, this feels like the light at the end of the tunnel for many people.
I am proud to say that this includes some of the Square Mile’s older, most vulnerable residents, many of whom have endured a tough year and have rightly been prioritised for the jab.
This is fantastic news, and I genuinely believe we are now at the beginning of the end of this pandemic.
Call for West Norfolk vaccination hub
Efforts to vaccinate elderly West Norfolk residents are stepping up this week.
The NHS is alerting people as to when it is their turn to have the vaccine.
A spokeswoman for NHS Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said: âA number of local practices are starting to invite and book eligible patients in for the first dose of their Covid vaccine prior to its arrival.

City Corporation clamps down on mixed-household Christmas parties amid rising COVID cases

Square Mile pubs and restaurants are being told they will be fined for allowing mixed-household Christmas parties in a tough clampdown by the City of London Corporation.
The Square Mile’s governing body issued the warning as London faces the threat of moving into Tier 3: Very High alert, as coronavirus cases rise across the capital.
City Corporation Licensing Team and Environmental Health Officers are visiting the venues to check they are following COVID-secure rules, and will issue fixed penalty notices of up to £4,000 to premises breaking the regulations.
