Home quarantine compliance system activated in Alice Springs

Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet A strict home quarantine compliance system has been activated in Alice Springs to help manage the number of Territorians returning to the NT. The Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has been investigating systems and processes to offer self-quarantine as a manageable option for Territory residents returning from interstate hotspots. This system will only be activated to support the Alice Springs Quarantine Facility when it is nearing capacity, and will only be available for those considered to live in suitable locations. Police and Environmental Health Officers will continue to carry out stringent physical compliance checks.

Health Alert: Stop Buying Vegetables Displayed On The Floor

  The Tema Metropolitan Nutritionist, Mr Samuel Atuahene Antwi at the weekend cautioned Ghanaians to be circumspect in purchasing fruits and vegetables displayed in the open on the floor as they tend to lose their nutritive value. In an interaction with the Ghana News Agency at Tema, Mr Atuahene Antwi said there were conditions for food storage, hot foods must be eaten hot, likewise cold foods and those with room temperature. According to him, traditionally foodstuffs brought from the farms were mostly displayed on the floor or on the ground and then the market women would go, buy and come display them on the floor and sell as well.
