Maharashtra Cabinet approves adventure tourism policy

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 15 (ANI): In a bid to increase tourism in the state, Maharashtra Cabinet on Wednesday approved an adventure tourism policy.
Addressing a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, state Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray said, Maharashtra government in the Cabinet has approved the concept of adventure tourism. We are trying to increase tourism in Maharashtra. We know that tourism is difficult in this pandemic situation but after COVID-19, we need to promote this adventure tourism, he added.
The minister said that people must take precautions against COVID-19 while visiting tourist places. (ANI)

June 3 is World Bicycle Day. In the Netherlands, almost everyone uses bicycles daily; the bicycle ownership per 1,000 persons there is 1,100. In China, it is 360 whereas in India it is a meagre 90. Covid has stalled many a cycle but it has revived the bicycle industry worldwide. In India, sales which were stagnant grew by over two-fold in the last year, so much so that one has to wait four months for lightweight, geared cycles which cost up to Rs 3 lakh.
