Mon, Dec 21, 2020, 11:57 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka. Dec 21, Colombo: Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has decided to relocate the office of the Minister of Tourism from its current location at the World Trade Center.
The office of the Minister of Tourism is currently located on the 25th floor of the West Tower of the World Trade Center (WTC) and the decision was taken due to the high cost, as much as Rs. 19 million for four months, and convenience of the people, Minister Ranatunga said.
He added that the Ministry of Tourism, which has been housed at the Insurance House until now, will move to the newly established Asset Arcade building at 51-E, York Street, Colombo 01 from the first quarter of next year and will move Minister’s office to the same building.

Accordingly, a high level committee consisting of the Secretaries of the three Ministries has been appointed to implement sports programs based on the development of the tourism industry next year.
This was discussed at length at a special discussion held at the Ministry of Tourism Monday to formulate joint programs of the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Health to open the country to tourists and to develop the tourism industry based on sports.
