April 25, 2021 DESPITE constant reminders, the Davao City government has continued to apprehend city-bound passengers who present falsified reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results, with the total number of violators reaching 79.
The numbers, according to the Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC), were recorded as of April 17.
City Tourism Operations Office (CTTMO) Head Gene Rose Tecson said some air passengers have presented fake RT-PCR test results from different alleged testing centers.
“Scammed sila, kadalasan Red Cross and now napansin namin, Lord’s Grace. Yung mga wala QR (quick response) code. Pati Cebu, meron na din – University of Cebu Medical Center and Central Visayas Lab. Pati Zamboanga may fake na,” Tecson said.

January 19, 2021 THE 19th Davao City Council strengthened the law penalizing a person using or producing falsified or tampered Covid-19 medical test results or other health verification documents in the city through an ordinance passed under third and final reading on Tuesday, January 19.
Acosta, proponent of the measure, said the ordinance was crafted following the recent apprehension of 22 air passengers at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport, also known as the Davao International Airport.
The persons were caught by the Airport Health Monitoring Team for submitting a fake RT-PCR test results upon verification.
The figures were based on the latest data from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) as of January 5, 2020.
December 23, 2020 THE City Government of Davao Airport Health Monitoring Team urged air passengers to be careful where they get their reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests at their point of origin after some passengers were reportedly scammed.
This comes after the Airport Health Monitoring apprehended a total of 21 persons for presenting tampered RT-PCR from July up to the present. It was in July when the city started requiring a negative RT-PCR test result upon arrival in the city. The result must be valid for at least 48 to 72 hours.
The figure includes five travelers from one flight who were apprehended on Monday, December 22, after presenting falsified RT-PCR results upon arrival at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport, also known as Davao International Airport.
