Changes Made To N B Liquor Control Act

Restaurants in New Brunswick are allowed to continue selling liquor with takeout or delivery food orders. The change was actually made during the pandemic state of emergency order but was made permanent under the Liquor Control Act on May 1. In addition, anyone who serves and sells liquor at licensed establishments will have to complete an online course on responsible practices. The course is being delivered by the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick (TIANB) and will become mandatory later this year. The Department of Training and Labour is providing $150,000 to support the program. TIANB president and CEO Carol Alderdice says certification is valid for five years and will be free for licensed operators until next March.
