August 03, 2021 - 3:30 PM A new Indie feature film will be shooting in Penticton, Summerland, Keremeos and Osoyoos this summer. From July 27 to Aug. 22, Vancouver-based writer and director Sophie Jarvis is filming Invasions, a psychological drama about a pregnant cannery worker who, after discovering what she believes to be an invasive insect in a peach, must convince her community that the danger it poses is very real. Jarvis has screened films internationally and this is her much anticipated first feature-length film. According to the Okanagan Film Commission, she spent her childhood coming up to visit family in Summerland where her mother grew up and the location is the inspiration for this story.
