The heat probe developed and built by the German Aerospace Center and deployed on Mars by NASA’s InSight lander has ended its portion of the mission.
Since Feb. 28, 2019, the probe, called the “mole,” has been attempting to burrow into the Martian surface to take the planet’s internal temperature, providing details about the interior heat engine that drives the Mars’ evolution and geology.

While humans may struggle to navigate a murky, turbid underwater environment, weakly electric fish can do so with ease. These aquatic animals are specially adapted to traverse obscured waters without relying on vision; instead, they sense their environment via electric fields.
Now, researchers are attempting to adapt these electrosensing techniques to improve underwater robotics.
Scientists have spent years studying how weakly electric fish including the knife fish and elephantnose fish utilize electricity for navigation. These fish have specialized electric organs that discharge small voltages into the surrounding water, creating their own personal electric fields. Nearby objects cause slight disruptions to these fields,

Digipredict digital twin is designed to predict the evolution of Covid-19.Under a cross-disciplinary program spearheaded by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, scientists from MESA+, Twente, The Netherlands, among others, are developing an AI-based system to predict whether Covid-19 patients will develop severe cardiovascular complications. In the longer term these systems could detect the likely onset of inflammatory disease.
EPFL has launched a pan-European research program called Digipredict. The goal is to develop a digital twin that can detect serious complications in Covid-19 patients, employing breakthrough technology in the fields of artificial intelligence, smart patches and organs-on-chips. The initiative brings together around a dozen partner organizations (universities, hospitals and startups).
