Mercedes junior driver Paul Aron is making a return to Prema Powerteam in the 2021 Formula Regional European Championship.
Estonian driver Aron joined the Mercedes programme in 2019 as a 15-year-old after his 2018 European Junior Karting Championship win impressed the Silver Arrows’ bosses.
Aron raced for Prema in both the 2019 German and Italian Formula 4 Championships, finishing seventh and third respectively.
Last year, he made the move to Formula Renault Eurocup, racing with ART Grand Prix, and missed out on the top 10 in the Drivers’ Championship by a matter of 27 points.
The Eurocup has merged with the Formula Regional European Championship ahead of the 2021 season and it is there that he will again represent Prema.

Mercedes has confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Danish racer, Frederik Vesti, to their junior driver development program.
Reports emerged last week in Vesti’s homeland that he was close to signing a deal with the Silver Arrows, and the reigning World Champions confirmed the news on Tuesday morning.
“I’ve dreamed of being a Mercedes junior and worked so hard for it, for so many years and that motivation has lifted me every single day,” Vesti said.
“To now be working with Mercedes, the best team in the world, is a massive boost for my career and I am really looking forward to building a powerful relationship in the future.
