Morayfield man dies in hospital after alleged assault by brother

Premium Content Subscriber only A Morayfield man who was assaulted by his brother at his niece s birthday party has died in hospital. Darren Adcock, 31, suffered a severe brain injury when he was allegedly punched by his brother while at his niece s 8th birthday party in Landsborough at 4.30pm on March 11. When Darren fell, he was instantly unconscious (and) hardly breathing, a GoFundMe page said. Mr Adcock was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital before being flown to Royal Brisbane and Women s Hospital where he underwent surgery to remove part of his skull. Police arrested his brother, Christopher Adcock, in Emu Park on March 12 and charged him with grievous bodily harm.

Snake bites spike in venomous start to Easter weekend

On Saturday morning a person was flown from a rural property after being bitten repeatedly. Queensland Ambulance Service reported the patient was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after the incident about 11.25am Saturday. The person was reportedly bitten multiple times by the snake at a property on Kilcoy Lane, Conondale. Another person was taken to Gympie Hospital in at stable condition on Friday afternoon after reportedly being bitten by a snake at a private residence about 2.55pm. emergency

Department explains as Coast s active cases jump to 10

Patient transfers can occur between hospitals as part of Queensland s broader management of COVID-19 patients, the spokeswoman said. The update came as the state s chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young revealed Queensland Health believed it had identified the missing link in the first of Brisbane s two most recent clusters.
