NEW DELHI: Sun TV Network is donating a sum of Rs 30 crores to provide relief to those affected by the second wave of the Covid2019 pandemic.
The donated amount will be spent on several initiatives currently underway in various states of India including, proceeds to the various programmes initiated by the Centre and state governments. The network is also partnering with NGOs that are providing oxygen cylinders, medicines etc to those in need.
In addition, the company will leverage its resources, including all its media assets, to spread awareness about the pandemic among TV viewers across India and the rest of the world.

Hyderabad: Sun TV Network, the parent company of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), will be donating Rs 30 crore to help the people fighting the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The second wave of coronavirus has infected many people, and the number of COVID-19 positive cases has been increasing at an alarming rate in the country.
Sun TV Network is the owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

KERALA: Sun TV Network, owners of IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad, has donated Rs 30 crore towards India s Covid2019 relief efforts. The amount donated by Sun TV will be used to undertake Covid relief works carried out by the central and state governments along with various other non-profits. Sun TV Network is donating a sum of Rs 30 crore to provide relief to those affected by the second wave of the Covid pandemic. This will be spent on several initiatives currently underway at various states of India including the following: 1. Donations to the various programmes initiated by the government of India and state governments. 2. Partnering with NGOs that are providing oxygen cylinders, medicines, etc, said Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Benchmark indices further pared gains in early afternoon trade. The Nifty gave up 14,800 mark. Metal, media and pharma stocks saw buying while PSU bank shares were under pressure.
Global stock market advanced as investors welcomed a strong jobs report from the United States that reinforced optimism that the world s top economy is well on the recovery track. The White House s support for a global waiver on patent protections for Covid-19 vaccines also cheered investors.
At 12:29 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, added 183.94 points or 0.38% at 49,138.73. The Nifty 50 index was up 61.52 points or 0.42% at 14,786.05.
In broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index was up 0.01% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index was gained 0.31%.
The domestic equities indices further extended gains and hit a fresh intraday high in early afternoon trade. The Nifty crossed the 14,600 level. Barring the Nifty Pharma index, all the sectoral indices on the NSE were in the green.
At 12:20 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, jumped 418.49 points or 0.86% at 48,805. The Nifty 50 index gained 123.60 points or 0.85% at 14,608.60.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index added 0.73% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index rose 1.24%.
The market breadth was strong. On the BSE, 1,852 shares rose and 910 shares fell. A total of 153 shares were unchanged.
Derivatives:
The NSE s India VIX, a gauge of market s expectation of volatility over the near term, fell 1.38% to 23.17. The Nifty 29 April 2021 futures were trading at 14,615.25, at a premium of 6.65 points as compared with the spot at 14,608.60.
