TRAVERSE CITY, MI - One of Old Mission Peninsula’s most popular winter adventures is back this season, and is ready to turn a string of Sundays into the more appropriately-named “fun days.”
Every Sunday through March 6, the TC Brew Bus will be taking small groups of people to the starting point of the Snowshoe, Wine & Brew events. Participants head out on an afternoon trek along a flagged trail that includes two of the peninsula’s destination wineries and a pub. Glasses of wine, beer or even a warming spiked cider are all included in the $28 ticket price.

We saw a surge this summer and fall in people out hiking and mountain biking on our woodland trails with trailhead parking areas sometimes full.
I fully expect that to continue into winter, and look for that to translate into an increase of snowshoeing participants.
The reasons that drove the hiking increase the past few months arenât changing. The pandemic is still with us, a lot of people will still be working from home, no longer traveling and getting stir crazy. The appeal of the outdoors, fresh northern Michigan air in your face, and a trek on an isolated forested trail will be strong this winter.
