It’s one tournament Popov has been rearing to compete in and stems off her consistent play since winning the 2019 AIG Women’s Open.   “It s definitely been a very cool experience for me. I think I ve watched this tournament over the years and saw the other girls playing and I was never able to qualify for it,” said Popov. “I think that s one of the perks that came with winning the AIG Women s Open last year. I think that s just been kind of almost like a bonus week for me again just being able to enjoy being out here with the Top-70 girls right now and I m playing on-really really nice golf course.”

And though she may be confined to her hotel for most of the week, Ko said she still finds a way to experience the local cuisine. “I have friend in Singapore, so he delivered lots of food yesterday, lunch and dinner. I ate lots of dumplings, and I had chili crabs for dinner, so I m full still,” said Ko. The World No. 1 is back in Singapore for the third time, looking to build upon her last two visits to Sentosa Golf Club. Ko notched a T6 finish in 2018 and a T3 result in 2019 and has never recorded a round higher than a 73 in those two events.
