The Chenango County Sheriff s Office has announced the unveiling of their new phone app. It is easy and free to download and will give you all the information you need right through your phone, including police items, notices, COVID-189 news, sex offender details and more. The sheriff s office has uploaded a video demonstration of the new smartphone app for your easy reference.

Mt Upton Woman Arrested on 6 Charges
On December 26th, a Town of Guilford resident was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for two counts of Petit Larceny, two counts of Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification Information 3rd Degree, and two counts of Identity Theft 3rd Degree.
Deputies arrested Heather A. Prince, 35, of Mt. Upton, NY. Following an investigation where Prince took two separate victims credit card information while working at a local business. Prince then used the credit cards to make unlawful money transactions. Prince was arrested and released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.
The agency s smartphone application is designed to provide information quickly and efficiently.
Sheriff Ernest Cutting said he believes the app will improve his office s ability to communicate with the public. He said important public safety information will be released to residents as quickly as possible.
The mobile phone app was developed by an Alabama-based software company called OCV, LLC. The firm provides apps to law enforcement and other emergency agencies.
Cutting said the Chenango County app will allow users to submit a tip and to read agency news releases. Instant push notifications also will be available through the app.

The app will serve as a new way for the Sheriff’s Office to provide information quickly and effectively.
Sheriff Erenst Cutting says the app has a lot of features like information about inmate visitations.
He also says the app has spaces where people can leave tips and where deputies can send out media releases.
The sheriff’s office thought about doing the app after their email system went down awhile ago.
The app is free to download for all Apple and Android devices.
