After Senate Republicans blocked an independent, bipartisan commission, the U.S. House on Wednesday voted to create a Democratic-run panel to investigate the Jan. 6 insurrection by supporters of then-President Donald Trump.
The vote was largely along party lines, 222-190, with only two Republicans, Reps. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Liz Cheney of Wyoming, voting with the Democrats.
All 10 House Democrats from New Jersey voted yes, while Republicans Chris Smith and Jeff Van Drew voted no.
