Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, the immediate past Secretary to the Ogun State Government under Senator Ibikunle Amosun has said Governor Dapo Abiodun is not saying the truth about the airport being constructed in Wasinmi, Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.
Adeoluwa said the Abiodun government, when inaugurated, made attempts to stop the airport by asking contractors to vacate the site.
Speaking in a statement he issued on Tuesday, Adeoluwa stated that, “From day one, the current regime in Ogun State simply wanted the Abeokuta Airport project in Wasimi moribund. Very early after it took office, the Ogun State Government forcefully halted the then ongoing works at the Abeokuta Airport site in Wasimi. They told the contractors that Ogun State does not need the Airport any more and directed the contractors to remove their equipment from the Airport.”

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has decried the continuous vandalism of its assets across stations by vandals, saying such dastardly act endangers air safety in the country.
The Managing Director, NAMA, Fola Akinkuotu, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Lagos on Monday.
Mr Akinkuotu told the Senate Committee on Aviation during an oversight visit on Sunday that NAMA has invested in navigational aids in recent times, but some of them were regularly vandalised by hoodlums.
