The House and Senate are set to adjourn for the rest of the year once they pass the omnibus and coronavirus relief package, which the House plans to vote on today and the Senate shortly afterwards. Separately, Congress is anticipating President Trump to veto the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) this week, leading discussions among lawmakers about the possibility of voting to override the veto on the morning of Jan. 3 before the new Congress is sworn in.   FY21 Appropriations and COVID Package. CNN s Smerconish lauds Trump on $2,000 relief checks: Most effective thing he s done post election

However, Smerconish responded by saying he believed Cuomo and Scaramucci were “underestimating the president.”  “I don’t think the perception of him being ‘the Grinch Who Stole Christmas’ is accurate,” Smerconish continued. “I think this is the arguably, politically speaking, the most effective thing that he has done since losing the election.” “It is him, frankly, laying back on those arguments that first put him in office, that he’s the champion of a working person and he wants two grand in everybody’s pocket,” the television and radio host continued. “I think it’s very effective for him.” Cuomo then said that while he agreed with this analysis, he said there is a cost if Trump delays signing the bill.
