Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who is co-leading negotiations on a bipartisan infrastructure plan, met with President Joe Biden Tuesday for a one-one-one meeting as lawmakers seek to overcome disagreements on the $1.2 trillion deal.
Sinema, D-Ariz., met with Biden the morning after 10 Democratic and Republican lawmakers met again Monday night to try to work out differences on one of Biden’s top legislative priorities. The meeting was in the hideaway office of co-negotiator Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio.
Senators continue to try to resolve outstanding sticking points, which include the levels of funding for transit, broadband and water systems. There also is disagreement over whether or not all infrastructure projects funded by the proposed new federal spending would need to meet federal wage requirements.
