Top Story April 27, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly criticised the PTI government on the issue of high electricity and gas tariffs, saying that the IMF had directed Imran Khan to increase the electricity bill and the PTI government issued the ordinance in this regard. “Imran Khan is running the Pakistani economy on the instructions of the IMF, hence tarnishing the country s image,” he said in a statement on Monday. Bilawal Bhutto said that the people are suffering the consequences of Imran Khan s incompetence in the IMF deal through their high electricity and gas bills. “Imran Khan has now planned to rob Rs700 billion from the pockets of the poor people,” he said.

PTI has damaged country’s economy, says Sherry National April 15, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan People’s Party in the Senate Senator Sherry Rehman has said Pakistan needs relief from ‘PTIMF’ which caused unprecedented damage to the country’s economy. “Pakistan’s economy is going through an unprecedented damage under Tabahi Sarkar’s controversial and non-transparent IMF agreement, which has wreaked havoc on the Pakistani street by unleashing a tsunami of unbearable utility and food staple price hike,” she said in a statement on Wednesday. Sherry said the indirect taxes from Rs1,000 to 1,300 billion will add to dangerous level of inequality. “It has also indebted Pakistan to the point of crisis, and has now taken us into a situation where the federal bank is being made totally unaccountable to the Pakistan’s parliament or people,” she said.
